Appendix G of the Racing Rules of Sailing

Due to the proliferation of carbon fiber sailcloth, Competitors  (and Sailmakers) are reminded that Appendix G of The Racing Rules of Sailing deals with Identification on Sails.

Appendix G1.2(a)(3) states, "National letters and sail numbers shall be of a contrasting color to the body of the sail..."

In addition, the letters and numbers identifying the boat shall be clearly legible when the sail is set.

Failure to comply with this rule could lead to a protest.
